刀 Katana
The Katana is a Japanese sword known for its lightness balanced with unparalleled strength. Unlike a European sword, the Katana looks thin yet often outperforms. It's perfectly symmetrical to the philosophy of the GTR both in form & function: A true japanese muscle car, toned, athletic, and balanced.
The design starts with a uniquely boxy yet lean outer silhouette, showcasing the GTR's muscular & angular form. Since the ignition tumblers require a low turning force on these cars, the decision was made to machine a uniquely slim shape representative of a sword. We wanted to celebrate the immense box fenders, hence the protrusions along the sides. And lastly, the iconic taillight graphic was measured & proportionally scaled for accuracy.
